Pitt sponsored accounts for departmental research

Sponsored accounts are commonly used by departmental staff members who are UPMC employees to gain access to university resources.

To request the creation of a new Pitt sponsored account, please submit a request using this form (requires UPMC login).

Pitt sponsored accounts should be sponsored by a university faculty member who is also a university employee. Be sure to include the account sponsor (primary investigator) and indicate if the sponsored account will be used a shared mailbox or resource account.

To terminate a Pitt sponsored account, please submit a request using this separate form (requires UPMC login).

For password changes, please note that sponsored account owners are not permitted to contact the Pitt Help Desk. Researchers should contact us directly to request a password reset for sponsored accounts.

For shared mailbox permission changes, researchers should also contact us directly with the request.
